Jacky Poteau

PDG of Innovative Learning Concepts (ILC)

Jacky Poteau is Co-Founder and PDG of Innovative Learning Concepts (ILC) and Coordinator of SNEI-PC (Salon du Numérique, de l’Entrepreneuriat, et de l’Innovation du Plateau Central), a citizen-led initiative to expose young people to the benefits of Information Technology (IT) and the inevitable overlap between IT, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. From 2006 to 2014, Mr. Poteau served as President and Executive Director of FATEM, a nonprofit organization based in Massachusetts and serving the Plateau Central region in Haiti. From 2009 to 2011, he was Executive Director of 1000 Jobs/Haiti, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Rhode Island and operating in Haiti. In that role, through collaboration with Samasource, he successfully implemented the Plateau Central Digital Workforce (PCDW) in 2010, which employed over 50 young people – most of them displaced by the devastating earthquake that struck the country that year. His vision for ILC is to use the connections and lessons learned from PCDW to bring back to Haiti opportunities such as twenty-first-century-relevant training, gainful employment, and access to capital for small business owners.

He has been lending his assistance throughout the Haitian Diaspora to various initiatives that are geared towards development in Haiti; as such, he has served on the board of several community organizations. Currently, he volunteers as a social media support at GRAHN-USA, the U.S.-based chapter of GRAHN-World (Group for Reflection and Action for a New Haiti). He helped launch GRAHN-Mirebalais in January 2018.

Jacky holds a Microsoft Certified Professional Certificate from Boston University Metropolitan College, a Master’s Degree in Health and Medical Informatics from Brandeis University, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University.

He firmly believes that online education can play a major role in training the workforce of the 21st century and in providing young professionals in Haiti with much-needed access to the skills necessary to compete on a global level. He is a fervent advocate for networking and collaboration among various groups working towards the betterment of the Motherland – both in the diaspora and in Haiti.

Jacky divides his time between offices in Arcahaie, Mirebalais, and Boston. He can be reached via e-mail at jpoteau@ilchaiti.com.
